  • My Black is Beautiful (MBIB) is a celebration of African-American beauty in all of its manifestations. Moreover, it is a national conversation — hosted by African-American women — about how we define and promote our own beauty standards.

  • What is the "State of Black Beauty" Survey?
  • The "State of Black Beauty Survey" was fielded January 12 to 13, 2009. African-American women, ages 18 to 54 (sample 1,000+), responded to a self-administered online survey that explored their knowledge and attitudes toward perceptions of African-American beauty and the effect that has occurred on their perceptions post-election.
  • What is the My Black is Beautiful show on BET Networks?
  • The My Black is Beautiful campaign has evolved into a nationwide movement with the launch of the national television series on BET Networks. Procter & Gamble has partnered with BET Networks to create a television series that supports the P&G My Black is Beautiful campaign and celebrates African-American women. The inaugural episode of the new TV series features a segment that salutes First Lady Michelle Obama. P&G also paid tribute to this historic occasion as a sponsor of the BET Networks Inaugural Ball.

    The second season of the My Black is Beautiful TV Show aired Sundays, May 2 through June 6, 2010, on BET and Centric. You can watch behind-the-scenes clips and full episodes here.

  • The My Black is Beautiful campaign has evolved from its initial collaboration with "ESSENCE" magazine for the development of the My Black is Beautiful discussion guide into a partnership with the ESSENCE Music Festival in New Orleans.
