Spring 2010 My Black is Beautiful LIVE!

Thank you to everyone who came to a My Black is Beautiful LIVE! event in Washington D.C., Atlanta or Los Angeles. Your participation helped make these events a huge success.
The day-long events celebrated African-American beauty and featured engaging discussions about topics such as fashion, fitness and community with special celebrity guests. Attendees also were treated to free mini-makeovers, product samples and live entertainment.
Plus, taped portions of these events even appear in the second season of the My Black is Beautiful TV Show on BET. Look for yourself in an episode or clip.

Dr. Dorothy Height, a true pioneer in African-American and women's rights movements, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
We are honored that one of Dr. Height's last public appearances was at an event sponsored by My Black is Beautiful, where she imparted advice to students at the historic Dunbar High School in Washington, D.C.
My Black is Beautiful sponsored BET Networks' Leading Women Defined Summit on March 10, 2010, as part of the Dunbar High School My Black is Beautiful Collage Contest.
We feel certain that Dr. Height left a lasting impression with those young women and that her impact on society will be recognized for many years to come.
Our thoughts go out to her loved ones and colleagues at the National Council of Negro Women.
